Factory Chaos in Residence Massacre is the ultimate Night 2 challenge, requiring players to survive from 12 AM to 6 AM while every regular modifier is active simultaneously. Beating this mode awards 500 bonus Coins, the exclusive "Operator" Outfit, and the Factory Chaos badge.

Completing Night 2 under these conditions forces you to manage extreme cold, increased enemy speeds, extra hostile entities, and fragile infrastructure in the factory.

What Is Factory Chaos?

Unlike Night 1's House Chaos, which adds an extra minute and thirty seconds of survival time at 5:59 AM, Factory Chaos does not feature a unique standalone mechanic. Instead, it stacks the hazards of all three regular Night 2 modifiers:

ModifierPrimary ThreatKey Factory Changes
BloodmoonFaster, Deadlier AnomaliesHalved daytime prep; Mutant attacks and moves faster; Stalker deals higher gaze damage; Pest cuts cables faster; Batteries restore 3 power bars instead of 2.
GravesSkeleton HostilesSpawns 5 Skeletons (1 at 12 AM, 2 at 2 AM, 2 at 4 AM) from graves behind the building; enables a 3rd UV Light in the Delivery Service.
BlizzardFreezing TemperaturesAdds the Boiler Room between storage and generator; inside without heat deals 9.1 damage per second after 7 seconds; pipe leaks drain gas faster.

Surviving this combination yields 500 Coins for the Factory Chaos clear, on top of the standard +250 Coins per active modifier and the extra win credit from Bloodmoon.

Preparation Phase Checklist (4 PM to 12 AM)

Because Bloodmoon halves your daytime preparation clock, you have less time before midnight strikes. Once you punch in at the clock in the factory center, move through these essential tasks immediately:

  1. Loot the Factory: Gather essential tools. Ensure your team secures the Wrench, Batteries, Medkits, and any available Bloxy Colas.
  2. Order from Delivery Service: Purchase the UV Lights as early as possible. Graves unlocks an extra third UV Light for purchase. Cameras can also be deployed near floodlights or Stalker spawn cracks.
  3. Barricade Floodlights: Use the Hammer to place barricades across the 5 floodlights (3 in the middle section, 2 on the right side). Placing planks evenly ensures The Mutant is delayed whenever it attempts a breach.
  4. Inspect the Boiler Room: Locate the boiler room accessed through the generator room. Familiarize yourself with the Gas Can spawns beside it and keep a Wrench handy to fix leaking pipes.

Core Station Management

Surviving Factory Chaos requires keeping the factory powered, heated, and connected. Letting any core station collapse triggers a rapid failure chain.

The Boiler and Freezing Meter

Blizzard forces you to maintain the boiler. If the boiler runs empty, anyone inside begins taking 9.1 damage per second after only 7 seconds of freezing exposure.

  • Refueling: Pick up Gas Cans located adjacent to the boiler and refill it when the orange level on the top screen indicator drops toward the blue end.
  • Pipe Leaks: Pipes connected to the boiler will periodically burst, accelerating gas drain. Equip the Wrench and interact with leaking pipes immediately to seal them.

Power Generator and Floodlights

The generator on the left side of the factory powers both the interior lights and floodlight flashes.

  • The generator features 3 white charge bars. Each floodlight flash drains 1 bar.
  • To restore power, fetch a Battery from the storage room and insert it into the charging chamber. Under Bloodmoon, each battery completely refills all 3 bars rather than the standard 2 bars.
  • Never flash floodlights blindly. Only press the neon white button when The Mutant is actively peering through or striking the barricades.

Radio Tower Maintenance

The radio tower behind the factory powers the defensive radios used against The Pest.

  • Lightning strikes the tower at scheduled times (2 AM and 4 AM).
  • Climb the ladder with a Wrench in hand, identify the sparkling wire, and click it to fix the connection.
  • Clicking the wrong wire or attempting repairs without a Wrench inflicts 30 electrocution damage.
  • Descend immediately once fixed; lingering at the top of the tower will result in a fatal lightning strike.

Countering Anomalies Under Chaos Modifiers

Every anomaly receives substantial stat buffs or lethal synergies when modifiers overlap.

The Mutant

  • Behavior: Spawns exclusively at the 5 floodlight positions. Under Bloodmoon, its approach speed, spawn frequency, and window-breaking rates are significantly elevated, and its pupils glow red.
  • Defense: Use floodlight flashes to force it to retreat. If it breaks through, you can stun it with a UV Light or run looping routes through doors, closing them behind you.
  • Locker Warning: Lockers in the middle, storage, and back right rooms can hide you from a roaming Mutant once per run by completing the breath-holding minigame. Hiding in a locker a second time results in an unavoidable kill.

The Pest

  • Behavior: Traverses vents and attempts to sever the floodlight wiring. In Bloodmoon, it cuts wires much faster.
  • Defense: Activate the nearby Radios to scare The Pest back into vents before it snaps cables. If the radio tower is down, radios are disabled.
  • Repairs: If a cable is severed, open the office computer and use the Repairs tab to dispatch the repair worker. Verify that The Pest has retreated first; sending the worker while The Pest remains on the wire kills the worker permanently.

The Stalker

  • Behavior: Begins spawning at 2 AM from black goo puddles over cracks in four potential spots: entrance, office, storage, or back right room.
  • Defense: Flash it with a UV Light or a camera flash while it is emerging.
  • Rampage Protocol: If it fully emerges, it rampages by teleporting nearby. Avoid looking directly at it (which drains 13.3 health per second under base rates, scaled even higher by Bloodmoon). Touching it during a rampage kills instantly. Stun it with a UV Light to suppress it until it despawns. Avoid the black floor residue, which slows movement and deals 4.44 damage per second.

Skeletons (Graves Modifier)

  • Behavior: Red-eyed, bloody/frozen Skeletons spawn outside from the three graves (1 at 12 AM, 2 at 2 AM, 2 at 4 AM) and pursue players inside.
  • Defense: Keep moving. Skeletons deal heavy contact damage. Delay their entry by reinforcing factory exterior doors with a Hammer and Lock, though this makes reaching the radio tower more difficult.

Factory Chaos is balanced around heavy multitasking, making 3 to 4 players ideal:

  • Role 1 (Boiler & Tower Specialist): Equips the Wrench. Remains stationed near the boiler room to patch leaks, add gas, and sprint out to fix the radio tower at 2 AM and 4 AM.
  • Role 2 (Power & Repair Tech): Watches the office computer for cable damage, monitors generator charge bars, and fetches batteries from storage.
  • Role 3 & 4 (Perimeter Defense & Interceptors): Hold UV Lights. Patrol the floodlights, tap radios to ward off The Pest, track Stalker spawn puddles, and stun breached Mutants.

Solo Strategy (Boiler Camp)

Solo runs become overwhelming if you attempt to patrol every floodlight manually. However, solo players can exploit pathfinding:

  • Camping inside the Boiler Room causes the Skeleton AI pathfinding to break, preventing them from cleanly targeting you.
  • Being stationed directly next to the boiler allows you to continuously refill fuel and patch pipe leaks with the Wrench, neutralizing the freezing threat entirely.
  • Keep a UV Light and Battery readily available to handle roaming threats and refuel the generator between Mutant cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

What rewards do you get for beating Factory Chaos?

Completing Factory Chaos awards 500 bonus Coins, the "Factory Chaos" badge, and the "Operator" Outfit. You also earn the standard +250 Coins per active modifier and win progression from Bloodmoon.

Can you use Lockers multiple times during Factory Chaos?

No. You can only safely hide inside a locker once during the night. If you enter a locker a second time, The Mutant will automatically open the locker and eliminate you.

What happens if the Repair Worker dies?

If you send the repair worker to fix a cable while The Pest is still present, The Pest kills the worker. This permanently disables floodlight wire repairs for the remainder of the night.

Why do floodlight batteries give more power in Factory Chaos?

Because the Bloodmoon modifier is active, loading a battery into the generator chamber refills all 3 power bars instead of the normal 2 bars.
